During their stay in Bukhara, the Prince received a note of invitation from the Mongol commander of Khiva to visit and enjoy the city. Nestled along the Amu Darya river near the Kyzylkum and Karakum deserts, William was hoping the landscape would remind of his home half a world away, and immediately responded with acceptance. The note said the commander wanted to show off the restoration of Itchan Kala, and its marvelous sights.
The gang arrived just in time for a city wide Qarsak competition where all inhabitants were kindly enlisted to dance in chains in, around and through the city’s landmarks. Joining one of the chains Captain Banana ended up inside one of the many spas, and was convinced to enjoy the bathing pools where he frolicked with the local harem’s third-string entourage.
