Childhood Bliss, 2024

On the verge of manhood, the young but exceptionally statuesque William was sent on his Shagai Kharvaa, deep into the wilderness of the steppes and mountains. Naked and glistening except for his wits and weapons he strove to survive through tracking and hunting the strongest predators and most devious prey. While he excelled at all he did, evidenced by the celebrated spring collection of lynx coats, mufflers and accoutrements he fashioned, he found himself most drawn to the wide Mongolian sky. The goshawks and kites flying above his makeshift camp had him dream of a life as his Magpie byname, to experience the simplicity and wonder of soaring above the endless land.
