At the seasoned age of 17, William was ordered by his father, the Great and unconquered Khan, to accompany his greatest Admiral, the experienced and worldly Dr. P. Fong, to Hokkaido for some well planned but ultimately casual plundering.
The navy, with the flagship captained by the young Prince in his first watery command, landed and the accompanying cavalry quickly captured the main castle of the island. Within the walls and the surrounding countryside, William found an entirely new mode and palette, unlike anything he had previously experienced.

Here, stimulated with new wonders, he did as he would, plundering the most shiny and exquisite gems and curios. He imbibed the most wondrous sake, made the acquaintances of enlightened artists, and most importantly made his first order for bolts of silk from the best sericulturist in the land. From the dizzying array of chiffons, crepe du chines, and habotais he made entire wardrobes for the Great Khan,
his mother, the sisters he liked, and his friends the acrobats.
